How Does the Last In How to Train Your Dragon Series Measure Up

The last movie in the How to Train Your Dragon series is available to own now. Fans of the series are still hoping there will be at least one more movie added to the franchise, but currently, it looks like it will be the last with possible spinoffs. We were lucky to get a copy of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World and the kids have been watching it ever since.

In this next installment, the heroic pair finally fulfill their destinies; Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) as the village chief and ruler of Berk alongside Astrid (America Ferrera), and Toothless as the dragon leader of his own kind. As the Vikings and dragons of Berk face their darkest threat yet, the evil Grimmel (F. Murray Abraham), and Toothless discovers his soulmate, Light Fury – the bonds of Hiccup and Toothless’ friendship are tested like never before.

The film is a great bookend to the series. In The Hidden World, we get to explore a different kind of love than what we’ve seen in past films. Both Toothless and Hiccup have crushes and in this film, we get to follow them on a journey to find a different kind of love than what we’ve seen in the past. Although this film has elements of a love story, it isn’t mature in nature so more of it is implied instead of kids having to see mature things.

The movie is visually stunning like all the other films in the series. There are so many great moments in the film that we love. One of our favorite scenes is a mating dance between Toothless and the female dragon. We’ve been watching the movie continuously so we can see all the beautiful scenes over and over again. This is a film you can add to your collection whether you’re a fan of the series of not.

There are lots of great bonus features on DVD and Blu-ray as well and they can vary by retailer. They even added a cool game feature in conjunction with Facebook Messenger you can check out.
