Hipmunk Hotels: Unique Hotels in Glendale, Hawthorne, Santa Maria, and more

California offers travelers a variety of options when traveling. You can spend time lying on the beach, hiking, sightseeing, visiting popular attractions, and more. Finding the right hotel can be easy once you know what you’re looking for, and these unique hotels in Glendale, Hawthorne, Santa Maria, El Segundo, and Dana Point are top choices in my opinion.

Enjoy the Coast in Dana Point

Dana Point is a small coastal city that’s perfect for a romantic getaway or a family trip. Plan a trip to watch dolphins and whales through Captain Dave’s Dolphin and Whale Watching Safari. For an affordable hotel option, check out DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Doheny Beach-Dana Point, which offers King Bed Suites starting at $159 per night. Travelers to the area highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Nigel. This luxurious hotel features panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, with rates starting at $479 per night that include use of the spa and tennis courts.

Stay Close to L.A. Without the Hassle in El Segundo

El Segundo allows travelers to be close enough to Los Angeles to enjoy the city while offering a quick commute back to your hotel. It’s a little over three miles away from LAX with lots of hotel options for people traveling to the area. Aloft El Segundo – Los Angeles Airport features modern contemporary decor with a nice list of amenities. Aloft El Segundo has free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and pool, and you can grab a quick bite at their bistro eatery. Rates start at $169 per night for a King Bedroom.

Wine Lovers Paradise in Santa Maria

Santa Maria is a wine lovers’ paradise; start your vacation by booking a tour with Foxen Canyon Wine Trail. Take in the breathtaking sights of local California wineries. Spend a day on Avila Beach soaking up the rays, visit Hearst Castle, and stop by the outlets for some retail therapy. The Historic Santa Maria Inn has a mix of vintage and modern decor. Rooms start around $115 per night.

Enjoy the Valley in Glendale

Glendale sits between Pasadena and Los Angeles, travelers can choose to visit either of those cities or stay in Glendale to explore the area. Deukmejian Wilderness Park has great hiking trails and beautiful scenic views. Brand Park is a quiet neighborhood park filled with picnic tables, walking trails, and more. Hotel Brandwood is within walking distance of over 200 dining and shopping locations including The Americana at Brand. This luxurious hotel has rooms starting at $111 during fall’s off-season.

Cheap Hotels Near LAX in Hawthorne

Hawthorne is the perfect choice for travelers looking to stay close to LAX without the high price tag near the popular airport. The Ayres Hotel Manhattan Beach is a family-owned hotel offering top amenities and excellent customer service. Rooms here average $169 per night, and rates seem to be higher during the work week. Ayres is a 10-minute ride from LAX, and it’s close to restaurants and shopping.

These are just a few of the many options for travelers visiting these areas. Always research and compare prices when booking your travel to save on your hotel stays, entertainment, and more.
