Help Raise Funds For Autism with Lindt Chocolates
Easter is just around the corner and when Lindt reached out to me and asked if they could send some some chocolates and tell me about their partnership with Autism Speaks, of course I said – YES! Two reasons, I love chocolate and I love sharing about a good cause. I really like when companies get involved with helping out the community and I support efforts to help raise Autism Awareness. My sister is Autistic and unfortunately my family didn’t know this until she was a teenager. When she was younger she was just placed on medication for Attention Deficit Disorder. No proper test were ran and so for the longest none of us never truly understood what she was going through until I saw a movie that discusses Autism and so much of it reminded me of my sister. I started doing research and encouraged my mom to get her tested and when she did we found out she was indeed Autistic.
I received a few items from Lindt to sample and I plan to put them in the kids Easter Basket this year (I will post an updated picture once I finish creating them). The highlight in the basket is the iconic Gold Bunny.
This is Lindt’s sixth year partnering with Autism Speaks and raising funds for the organization. They have raised over $600,000 dollars to date and this Easter season they plan to donate $130,000 through sales for the Gold Bunny, Celebrity Auctions and store activities.
“We know autism is a cause that touches millions of families and we are proud to again generate funds and awareness for the autism cause this Easter,” said Thomas Linemayr, president and CEO of Lindt USA. “With the help of our consumers and through joyous Easter celebrations, Lindt has been able to raise more than half a million dollars for Autism Speaks.”
How You Can Get Involved:
Include Gold Bunnies in your Easter gifts this year. Lindt plans to donate 10 cents from the sale of each bunny sold in the U.S. now through April, 20th up to $100,000.
This month Lindt is hosting their 5th Gold Bunny Celebrity Auction which features porcelain versions of the iconic Lindt GOLD BUNNY figure autographed by top celebrities who have lent their signatures to the cause. One hundred percent of the auction proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks. For more information about the auction, visit LindtGoldBunnyAuction.com.
Through April 15th Lindt will host a “Build a Better Easter Basket with Lindt GOLD BUNNY” game on the Lindt Facebook page where fans can help Lindt GOLD BUNNY find Lindt Easter collection novelties to build the ultimate Easter basket. Hidden in the game are Autism Speaks puzzle pieces and when found the pieces will trigger donations to Autism Speaks. Players will also have the chance to win one of twenty-five Lindt Easter baskets. To learn more and enter for a chance to win and help raise funds, visit the Lindt Facebook page.
You can also visit Lindt stores to participate in special Autism Shopping nights where you will be treated to special discounts, complimentary chocolates, goodie bags and a chance to win a special Lindt Easter Basket. Fifteen percent of sales at shopping nights will be donated to the Autism Speaks organization. Some of the other offering for Easter include:
