Giant Foods Introduces Limoncello Line of Products
Summer always makes me think of lemons and other citrus fruits. It’s usually the time of year I bake up lemon bars, lemon blondies, key-lime pie and tons of other citrus inspired baked goods. This summer Giant Foods has introduced their Limoncello line of products, available for a limited time only. I received a Limoncello Gift Bag from Giant Foods for preview. Any opinions expressed are my own.
Limoncello flavor was originated in Italy, where the Sorrento lemon is cultivated for its sweet and tangy essence. Giant has harnessed that flavor and infused it into more than 30 products that customers can find throughout the store, in both the fresh and non-perishable departments.
“Giant is excited to invite our customers to bring a little part of Southern Italy to their homes and their plates with our exclusive Limoncello line,” said Dean Wilkinson, vice president of sales and merchandising at Giant Food. “Many of our customers have bold, adventurous tastes, and this new line is just another example of Giant’s commitment to providing both exciting gourmet options and affordability when they shop for groceries.”
This versatile flavor complements many dishes, allowing Giant customers to incorporate Limoncello creations into special meals or daily snacks. Customers can season grilled vegetables with Limoncello olive oil, enjoy Limoncello pesto on pasta, and spread Limoncello marmalade on morning toast, among many delicious possibilities. Giant’s Limoncello desserts, including cookies, cakes and ice cream, are the perfect, refreshing final touch to summer cook-outs and picnics. Giant also offers Limoncello products beyond the edible—customers can freshen their households with Limoncello-scented candles, dish detergent, foaming hand soap and sanitizer products.
My family and I had the opportunity to try a few Limoncello products. We received the Limoncello Meringue Cookie, Limoncello Lemonade and Limoncello Risotto. My son opened the cookies within a few minutes of the box arriving. They were bursting with huge lemon flavor. We all enjoyed these cookies. My husband drank the lemonade in a day’s time. He said it was delicious. He loved it, obliviously enjoyed it because he drank the whole bottle by himself. We haven’t tried the risotto yet since I’m not sure what I want to make it with. Maybe with some grilled Salmon. The next time you’re shopping at Giant Foods be sure to check out the Limoncello line of products to learn more visit the Giant website or Pinterest
