We love spending time in Hershey, it’s not only the sweetest place on earth but it’s also filled with loads of fun for the family. One of our favorite things to do when visiting is making at stop at Chocolate World. It’s the flagship store filled with all things Hershey’s Chocolate. The store has lots of merchandise, a special cafe, bakery, and even exclusive Hershey’s products. Chocolate World just had a major update with lots of exciting changes including one to their attractions.
Chocolate World has three paid attractions, a free chocolate tour ride, and you can also sign up for Trolley Works in the store as well. The four attractions include Create Your Own Candy Bar, The Great Chocolate Factory Mystery in 4D, and the newly updated Chocolate Unwrapped which replaced the Chocolate Tasting Experience.
Thanks to the team at Hershey and Chocolate World we had the opportunity to experience the attractions at Chocolate World including the new Hershey’s Unwrapped. Once you sign up for your entry time and get your ticket simply return about 5 – 10 minutes before your show is supposed to start. A staff member will scan your ticket and you pick a Chocolate Academy Tasting Kit in one of three colors.
Once you get your kit you head inside and wait for the show to begin. About Hershey’s Unwrapped:

Once inside the show begins and we get to learn all kinds of things about chocolate. The experience covers the right way tot enjoy chocolate. We learned about The Five Senses of Taste-ology, which include sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finally taste.
To start we opened our kit and start with one of the milk chocolate kisses. We were instructed to partially open your candy wrapper and look at the chocolate, next we listened to the chocolate when you broke off a piece, we then smelled the chocolate, followed by touching it, and then we popped it in our mouths and just let it melt. Our instructor reminded us not to chew the chocolate but to just let it melt on our tongues.
Once we started eating our chocolate we talked about the six flavor families and the different notes we tasted in our chocolate. Chocolate can have tasting notes for the floral, fruity, nutty & spicy, earthy, diary, and sweet family. Did you know that Hershey’s Chocolate is the only chocolate still made with real liquid milk? The Hershey’s company source milk from local dairy farms to create their delicious chocolate.
Once we learned about the basics we were whisked away to Milton Hershey’s Secret Chocolate lab with one of his assistants to create some chocolate of our own. We learned some more the Milton Hershey history and got a cool certificate to take home. At the bottom of our kit was a full-sized Milk Chocolate Hershey’s Chocolate Bar to share with someone you love.
When you’re planning your trip to Hersheypark or Chocolate World be sure to add the attractions to your list. They are a fun way to add more to your Hershey’s experience and memories. You can book Chocolate World attractions online or inside the store. Bundle and save on your attractions when you purchase two or more items.
