Since the start of the COVID lockdown, we have been finding ways to bond with our children since our options to go out of the house are very limited. Family movie night is one thing we look forward to doing with our kids every Friday night. As long as we’ve been in the lockdown we’ve tried all kinds of movies to build a bond with them. My husband has introduced them to his favorites from the late ’80s and all of the ’90s, we’ve rewatched some of our family favorites and now we are going through some new titles. I’m always excited to watch new movies from opportunities through the blog.
If you’re looking for a good family movie to watch, then this is one that’s great to put on that list. We enjoyed it for our movie night and now I’m sharing five reasons why.
1. Wholesome Family Values
When picking a family movie I like one that has good values and one that I know we can enjoy without any issues. Dolphin Island was a perfect pick for that for different reasons but one being it is Dove Approved for all ages and winner of the Best Feature Film awarded by the Christian Film Festival 2021.
2. Animal Lovers Will Love It
If you’re an animal lover then the dolphin in this movie will grab your heart and make you want to take a swim in the ocean. There are also a few other animals in the movie that adds to the flair and make it even more adorable.
3. Tropical Life that Looks Laid Back and Stress Free
I was born on the island of Trinidad so looking at Dolphin Island it reminded me so much of living in the Caribbean it being laid back and stress free. I loved the colorful houses and the spirited people that played the parts in the movie. The scenery made us feel like we were traveling and enjoying the world.
4. Different Displays of Love
Love that be displayed in so many different ways and forms. It’s not always what we think it will be or how it will look. This movie was a great example of how people can love you in different ways. Sometimes a person’s love for you can end up hurting others, even if they think they are doing what’s best for you. This goes into my last reason.
5. Great for Conversations
My husband and I found that this movie was great for having conversations with our teens about love and other things happening in the movie. I love when we movie has a lesson that gives us the opportunity to talk to our kids and even offer a life lesson. That just means more family time for us, which is a huge bonus. ABOUT DOLPHIN ISLAND
