Five Reasons Hotel RL Baltimore is the Perfect Getaway Spot

July 21, 2017 By Nickida

Five Reasons Hotel RL Baltimore is the Perfect Getaway Spot

Living in Baltimore has its perks, however, I will say our family hardly ever venture into the downtown area. Recently my family and I had the opportunity to enjoy a staycation right in the heart of Downtown Baltimore. When the Hotel RL Baltimore contacted me about this staycation specials, I asked about visiting with my family. I picked the weekend after 4th of July hoping it wouldn’t be as busy downtown. We packed our bags and headed out for staycation.

Friendly Staff

The Hotel RL Baltimore has a few package options including one with free valet parking. Ours didn’t include the parking option so we found parking nearby and then walked to the hotel. When we walked into the lobby we were greeted by the front desk staff. The hotel doesn’t have a traditional check in desk, instead, staff stand in the lobby greeting guests and helping answer all your questions. I loved the availability of the staff at Hotel RL Baltimore and how they went above and beyond to help guests like myself and my family.

Modern Bathroom & Upscale Toiletries

The bathroom in our room was huge. The shower could easily fit all the members of our family, not that we would all get in at once. It was one of the best showers I’ve seen in a hotel. The sink was a modern square sink that barely took up space on the bathroom counter. That’s great for when you have multiple people with items to put in the bathroom. The bath products from Cascadia Soapery were spectacular. My husband commented about how much he loved the smell of the shampoo and conditioner when he washed his hair that night. He didn’t even want to leave the used bottles behind because he loved it that much.

Unique Amenities

The amenities at Hotel RL Baltimore was unlike any other I’ve seen before. Guests could check out the complimentary bikes and explore the city. There was also a game room filled with all kinds of board games for guests to enjoy. The community space in the lobby was perfect for guests looking to lounge around and take in the Baltimore scene or guests hoping to get some work done. There’s also a gym if you’re looking to work out, and free wifi for all guests.

Dining Onsite

If you don’t feel like heading downtown to grab a bite to eat, check out the onsite dining at the restaurant and lounge. Start your morning with a cup of fair trade artesian coffee in the hotel’s free flowing space. The hotel also offers packages that include breakfast.

Close to Downtown

If you’re looking for a hotel that’s in the heart of downtown Baltimore, Hotel RL Baltimore is a perfect choice. We were about five minutes walking distance from the Inner Harbor, National Aquarium, and lots of other downtown attractions and historic sites. We were able to easily pull up our Google Maps and walk to quite a few places, and if the weather was cooler we would have explored so much more. If walking isn’t your speed, you can also get an Uber or Lyft, or use the public transportation options around the hotel.

We had a blast exploring around downtown and spending a few nights away from home. The kids loved the hotel so much, they ran around the room, stayed up late, and we even had some smores sundaes as an afternoon treat.

Our beds were super comfortable and all six of us slept comfortable because of the trundle bed that was in the room. It was a total surprise and made the trip even more perfect. Check out a quick tour of our room below.

Bonus Insider Tip
