Fairies, Pirates & a Giveaway Me Mateys
The Pirate Fairy is set to hit stores and digital stores on Tuesday, April 1st but while I was in L.A. for my press trip courtesy of the generous folks at Disney I had the opportunity to attend a private screening of the movie and I even had a chance to speak with the creators of the movie (more of that to come later). It was amazing and while writing these last few posts from my trip is bitter sweet, I just love being able to share parts of the trip with my family, friends and readers. Getting back into all things Pirate Fairy, if you are a fan of the fairies then you’ll love the newest chapter in the franchise. This time I think the movie is going to be a hit with both girls and boys (adults too). When you introduce pirates it’s sure to entertain everyone.
In this installment we meet Zarina a dust keeper fairy with a tinker side to her. It’s funny because in the movie the top dust keeper fairy even makes mention of her tinkering ways. It’s what eventually led Zarina to share with Tinkerbell a secret she was keeping from the rest of the dust keeping fairies. When I first saw the preview for the film I thought she was just all bad but the movie did a great job introducing us to her so we see how she went from her Pixie Hallow self to then being the captain of a pirate ship. She’s brave and bold, a great addition to the fairies.
Baby Crocky was a huge hit at the screening. I’ve been a fan of him since the movie. We also got a stuffed plush from the folks at Disney Toon Studio and so my kids have been enjoying him as well. He’s an important part of the cast of characters added in this movie.
I really love the story of people making mistakes and forgiveness told in this movie. I also like that we see more of other fairies character develop as well. In each movie we see the filmmakers develop each one and gives us some more of their personality. In this film we see Silvermist who usually is shy and quite having to take the lead.
Overall this movie is a great movie and that’s not surprising because I’ve enjoyed all the Tinkerbell movies thus far. I just really love the addition of pirates in this movie and how they added in so many great characters that helps take the movie to a totally different level. It’s a must buy and you can pick it up on April 1st in stores and online.
Haven’t seen the trailer yet? Check out this extended trailer from the movie.
Also here’s a clip of one of the bonus selections from the movie. Check them all out. My son loved the Croc-u-mentary about crocodiles. They are all worth checking out.
About the Pirate Fairy:
From the world of “Peter Pan” comes “The Pirate Fairy,” a swashbuckling new adventure about Zarina (voice of Christina Hendricks), a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy who’s captivated by Blue Pixie Dust and its endless possibilities. When Zarina’s wild ideas get her into trouble, she flees Pixie Hollow and joins forces with the scheming pirates of Skull Rock, who make her captain of their ship. Tinker Bell (voice of Mae Whitman) and her friends must embark on an epic adventure to find Zarina, and together they go sword-to-sword with the band of pirates led by a cabin boy named James (voice of Tom Hiddleston), who’ll soon be known as Captain Hook himself. With laughter, heart, magic and thrills, “The Pirate Fairy” sets sail April 1, 2014.
