Dancing With The Stars Live Taping Experience
One of the items on our itinerary for the Big Hero 6 Event and ABC TV Event was a live taping of Dancing With The Stars. I haven’t watched the shows in years. I have stopped watching voting shows because the person I cheer for never seems to win. Needless to say I started to watch so I could be familiar with the teams when we arrived. I immediately picked favorites that I wanted to win but also I hoped they would still be there when we attended the taping. Thanks to Disney and ABC Television I attended an all expenses paid blogger trip for the Big Hero 6 Red Carpet Premiere.
All the bloggers got glammed up and headed out to CBS Studios for the live taping of Dancing With The Stars. We arrived and waited for instructions on where we would be going next. We walked through the parking lot and saw where all the stars were parked. Then we reached the entrance back stage to get to the ballroom floor. While walking in we saw Tommy Chung, he was coming back from rehearsal, later during the taping we learned that he suffered an injury during practice. He still danced through his pain that night twice. We walked around the back of the stage and came in right on the actual Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) stage.
We snapped a quick photo on the stage and we even had the chance to take a few photos at the judges table. The set was absolutely amazing. There’s so much to take in all at once, we had seats on the second floor balcony.
There’s so much that goes into a live taping of a show. First they need to make sure that everything is flawless, there’s no room for error because you can’t go back and get the clip again. Once its done that’s it. Behind the scenes there’s an audience host for the show. He gives the audience prompts letting us know when to clap, when to stand and sit, when to cheer and when to be quite. During the commercial breaks he goes to different sections of the audience and asks them questions about where there’s from and things like that. He even visited out section and talked with one of the bloggers. Here’s a tip if you even attend a live taping of DWTS be sure to wear comfortable shoes. We were sitting and standing a lot. My feet were killing me by the time the show was over.
I’ve been cheering for Alfonso and Witney for the very start. I want them to win the whole show. I loved seeing them dance in person. It was amazing and so exciting.
My second favorite couple were Lea and Artem. I love watching Switched at Birth so I was super excited to see Lea dance in person. Sadly Lea was voted off the show last week so she won’t win or come in second place but having the opportunity to see her perform was great.
After the taping we headed out to Mixology 101 for drinks and dinner, shortly after arriving members of the cast started to arrive. The first to arrive were Lea and Artem.
She was so much fun, full of energy and so nice. She introduced us to her daughters and she was so excited about us coming to chat with her that she even took our photo with her photo so she could share with her family and friends about us coming to hang with her and some of the cast.
I even had the opportunity to sit and chat with her in a small group. She asked us about where we were from and spent most of the time talking about us. When I told her I was from Baltimore she shared that some of her family lives in Maryland. She’s such a sweet person.
Sadie was such a sweetie, her entire family was there to support. Her parents took photos with other bloggers and her mom answered any questions she was asked. Her dad was even kind enough to take photos with two little girls when I asked him if they could have their photo taken with him. Even though they were not in our party he still was more than happy to take the photo and the girls were so excited.
