Connecticut Hotels Worth Visiting

Connecticut is a traveler’s dream, foodies can visit for the seafood and chowder, adventure seekers can visit for the hiking trails, and it’s a popular choice to rekindle your romance or plan a wedding. Whether you’re planning a trip in winter, spring, summer, or fall, there’s something for you to do year round. Here’s my list of Connecticut hotels that are worth visiting.

Visit the Mark Twain House in Harford

Less than three miles from the Mark Twain House, Radisson Hotel Hartford is a smoke-free hotel, with a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool, offering guests convenience and luxury all in one. Guests can get the perfect night’s sleep by staying in their rooms or suites featuring Sleep Number Beds. The business center is open 24 hours with computers and printers, and the fully equipped fitness center has bikes and treadmills. Bistro Z and Z Bar are available for on-site dining if you don’t want to leave the hotel.  You can book a room here for as low as $107 per night during off-peak seasons. Average room rates run about $152 per night.

The Fox Tower is easily one of the most luxurious hotels in Mashantucket, rates can get very high, but if you plan right you can find nightly rates as low as $129 per night. Fox Tower has amazing views of the surrounding forest, a 5000 square foot pool with poolside cabanas, and a golf course for guests. The on-site casino has table games, Keno, video poker, and slots. If you’re looking to explore the area, Pequot Trails and Pequot Museum are both close to Fox Tower.

Rooms sell out fast so book early. Outdoor enthusiasts can spend the day enjoying the harbor with complimentary bikes, kayaks, and canoes from the inn. Grab a Mystic Pass for savings on area attractions like the Mystic Aquarium. Harbour House Restaurant is a favorite for fresh seafood and local cuisine.

Stay Close to the Everything at Omni New Haven at Yale

Yale University

If you’re heading to Yale for commencement in May, Omni New Haven at Yale is the perfect choice. Rates at this hotel are slightly higher when students are in school and around graduation. Prices decrease during summer months. The hotel’s restaurant, bar and lounge, spa, fitness center, and golf course are a few of the amenities available to guests. Pets under 25 pounds are allowed. Be sure to visit the campus of Yale; they have several museums, including the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History.

Quaint Bed & Breakfast

If you’re looking for something different, the Farnam Guest House is a non-smoking mansion hotel with three amazing rooms and one suite. The Eleanor Dow suite is a complete apartment with two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. The suite rents for $199 per night on average. East Rock Park is close to Farnam Guest House if you’re looking to explore the area.

These are just a few of the great options for hotels in Connecticut, if you’re planning a trip to the area, be sure to start your search with these five hotels; they have something for everyone.
