Comforts of a Hotel Room

January 26, 2020 By Nickida

When stepping into a hotel guest room after a long day of driving or navigating busy airports, weary travelers typically want to plunk down on their bed and relax for a few minutes. They want to rejuvenate their bodies and minds before heading out to an adventure in town.

What makes a hotel room comfortable can be subjective, but there are many things that can make the guest feel more relaxed. Health and Wellness lists several ways to make the room more appealing. These include bringing items from home to make the place comfier and more peaceful.

Bring Toiletries

Sometimes the hotel toiletries have smells that are off-putting or have harsh chemicals. Familiar scents from home can be comforting and guests with sensitive skin can feel more at ease.

Pack Slippers

Nothing feels cozier than a pair of fluffy slippers. They not only keep the toes warm but can protect against dirty and worn carpets.

Brink Snacks

After a day of travel, most folks are hungry. The last thing they want to do is locate a restaurant right away. Room service can take a long time, too, so having a familiar snack available can stave off hunger.

Clean the Air

Residual smoke smells or harsh astringent cleaners can linger in the air. Unpleasant smells can make for an uncomfortable stay. Bringing a small air purifier can help.

Bring a Pet

More hotels are allowing pets these days, and nothing says home like having Fido curl up on the bed. It is essential to check ahead of time to ensure that the hotel is pet-friendly.

Dampen the Noise

Noises from other guests or outside traffic can make sleeping difficult. Having a set of earplugs and a source for white noise can help reduce stress and ease the mind.

The ambiance in the room can also help to make one feel more at home. The hotel comforter should be clean and soft. One of the first impressions that guests get from their hotel room is the bed. If the hotel comforter looks inviting, it will make the guest more relaxed.

Guests also like to know where the amenities are located. Searching in every drawer and cabinet for the hairdryer or looking behind furniture for electrical outlets can be frustrating and exhausting. Hotels who have their customers’ satisfaction at the top of their priorities know that keeping a guest happy will bring them and their friends returning for another stay.
