We need water to survive. You can live without food for a few days but you can’t survive without water after three days. My family and I briefly lived in North Carolina and in some parts of the area we lived the water was well water. I didn’t care for the taste at all. To me it always tasted like muddy water, my husband on the other hand was use to it so he loved it. Living there caused me to develop a habit of buying bottled water. When we lived in NC they had a set day for recycled trash and so I knew my bottles were being recycled so I didn’t feel so bad about the waste. Now that we are living in MD again I have continued with my bottled water but since we live in an apartment complex there isn’t a recycling bin near our building. In my effort to cut back on plastic bottles I said to myself I would get a reusable water bottle and use that for my daily water. That’s how I ended up on the Eco Vessel site.
I was excited about this Tritan Aqua Vessel Water Bottle because of the built-in water filter. I wanted to give it a try because I thought it would make drinking tap water much better. I was totally right. I love the filter in the bottle. My husband and I both like this bottle. He tries to get it before me. That little filter really makes a difference in the tap water. It has improve the quality of our tap water and I am sure it would have done the same had I been using this when we lived in NC. You can use the bottle when camping, or traveling in areas where you don’t have access to running water. Eco Vessel does recommend that you run your water through the filter a few times before drinking it. Since I’ve only used mines on my tap water I don’t run it more than once but if I was outdoors I would definitely run it more than once. It’s a 25oz bottle but the filter does decrease the amount of water you are getting in the bottle.
This bottle is great for using at home, at the gym, when you’re participating in outdoors activities but when I was thinking of great uses for this bottle and the need to clean your water – anywhere, anytime; I thought about “Preppers”. If you’re wondering what is a “Prepper”, let me share. Preppers are people who are preparing for catastrophic world events that could lead to the end of the way of living we know now. I’ve watched the new show on Nat Geo showcasing different preppers and the scenarios they are preparing for. Some are preparing for an economic collapse, volcano eruption, melting of the polar ice caps and so many more things, one thing that I noticed was constant was their need for a water supply. While I don’t believe this is the only thing you would need as a prepper for your water supply I would highly recommend you add it to your bug out bags and have a few bottles in your bunkers. Having the ability to filter your water means you can use sources for water that others may not use or get sick from using. It’s a great resource and its only $25.95 per bottle. One filter has the ability to clean 100 gallons of water.
