Reading to your children when they are young. It helps them with word recognition and memory recall as well. Our daughter knew all the words to her Pocahontas story book after a few months of her father reading it to her. She would sit and turn the pages and read from memory or the picture on her own at three years old. We have always believed in story time and encouraging our children to read. My husband is the designated story teller in our house. Why? Well he is so much better at making up stories than I am. He’s far more creative and better than I am with creating great adventures for the kids. See the kids love the books we read them but they enjoy the stories more when their name is in the story. They like being the hero and the ones to save the day.
Champion Me makes Personalized Children’s Books for kids. They take all the work out of creating a story for your child to star in. They have four different stories to choose from. We were able to review all four stories.
The other great thing about featuring your children’s name in the book, you get to design the character of your child. You can have them help you and make it much more fun. They get to choose their own skin color, face shape, eye color, hair, clothes colors and if they wear glasses you can add that feature as well. Even better you can add a dedication in the book for your child.
Our kids was super excited when they saw the e-books on my iPad. They were so excited at story time, our two oldest wanted their books read to them right away. We first read Kennedi and the Stonkeropolous and my daughter loved finding her name in the book. Basically the story is about a brave captain (Kennedi in our story) who had an army and protected her village. One day they all heard a loud scary sound and they began to get scared. Brave Captain Kennedi gathered up her army, hopped on her giant hawk and headed straight for the monster. When they got there even her army was scared and left her alone. Brave Captain Kennedi kept going and faced the Stonkeropolous alone.
Captain Kennedi learned that he wasn’t bad at all, he was very friendly but when people called him names it caused a black sludge to grow on him and hurt him. That’s why he was shouting out and cry in pain. This was our favorite part of the story. We had no idea when we started the book that our kids would also learn a lesson in being kind to others and how to speak kindly about others. Captain Kennedi helped the Stonkeropolous by assuring him that they are alike and have a lot in common. She was kind and it helped him feel better. They became friends.
Our kids loved the story and since we started reading them the books they have been much more excited about story time. The other three stories we read are all equally great and they too make your child feel like a champion. I highly recommended them all to you. You are not only getting an amazing story with your child as the main character, there’s the hidden message and hours of fun, all while boosting their confidence. These are the kids of gifts that kids cherish and brag about to friends and family members.
