I’m still dreaming of my Carnival Cruise aboard the Carnival Conquest from earlier this year. My family and extended family had an amazing time onboard the ship. It was our second cruise but my siblings and parents had been on much more. Even though it was our second time cruising with Carnival, we experienced so many new things on the ship. When we cruised on the Carnival Magic I shared our experience at the Steakhouse, it was amazing. Foolheartedly I thought we would be in for the exact same experience aboard the Carnival Conquest at their steakhouse but boy was I wrong.
Since our last cruise, the price of dining at the steakhouse has increased. The price for adults is $38 per person and $12 per child, 11 and under. When cruising I can honestly say that dining at the steakhouse is one thing we will always add to our list. Your meal is worth every penny and is perfect for celebrating special occasions.
Once seated at our table our server greeted us and asked us about our drink order. Shortly after she returned with a bread basket for us to choose from. We all picked the roll above. It looked amazing in the basket and lightly buttered it was just as great to eat. It was the perfect start to an amazing night.
We placed our appetizers orders and chatted while we waited for the food to arrive and when it did we were all blown away. I gave my family specific instructions for everyone to order something different so I would have lots of great photos to share with you guys. I wanted you to see as much of the menu as I could, and we all tried to get something different.
We all delighted in the food and all the amazing appetizers served for us at dinner. Did you know that when you make reservations at the Steakhouse it includes an amuse-bouche from the chef, appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert for your $38 price? The food is worth the price and a definite must when you’re cruising Carnival.
The tasting from the chef is one of my favorite things from visiting the steakhouse. It’s a small bite to prepare guests for the meal to come. It was simply delicious.
My mother-in-law ordered a fun and exciting dish that came to our table and delighted us all. When it arrived at the table all we saw was a large domed plated filled with smoke. Once the server opened up the dome we saw the oysters sitting inside. We were all tickled at the sight and it shows you how much attention to detail that Carnival put into their guests dining experiences.
One thing I liked about dining at the steakhouse on the Carnival Conquest is the salt selections for your steak when you order. After taking our order the server came back with a selection of salts for us to choose from for seasoning our food. She took the time to tell us about each option and which worked best for our entree selection. Its another added touch from Carnival.
Our dinner entrees were simply delicious. When you choose the steakhouse while cruising with Carnival you can expect to be stuffed before leaving. This was no different. By the time entrees hit the table most of us were already getting stuffed from all the delicious food. My mom ordered the Grilled Shrimp because she doesn’t eat steak. They were cooked to perfection.
Two of us ordered the Surf and Turf, despite eating lobster for dinner the night before. We wanted to have some more again. I’ll always choose lobster when cruising with Carnival because it’s delicious and cooked perfectly each time.
You can’t go to a steakhouse and not order steaks right? Well, the Steakhouse on board the Carnival ships does not disappoint when it comes to their steaks.
The Cowboy Steak is a favorite for my husband and me, we had it on our first visit to the steakhouse on the Carnival magic. It’s a very huge piece of steak. It takes up most of the plate. There are always leftovers when you pick this cut of steak for dinner.
My sister ordered the lamb chops for dinner, and it looked exquisite. We all wanted to have a bite when the server brought it out to her. It was cooked perfectly and I was surprised she ate her entire serving.
Guests can add side items to their order from the steakhouse as well. The mac and cheese was a top favorite at our table but guests can choose from Baked Potato with Trimmings, Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, Steamed Broccoli, and Sauteed Mushrooms.
When visiting the steakhouse, you may be stuffed at the end of the meal but I suggest trying to save some room for dessert. We had the cheesecake and we were all surprised at the nice slice they gave us at the end of our meal. Most of it we took back to our room but we got a nice treat to enjoy later on.
The next time you’re booked to sail the Carnival Conquest or any Carnival ship with a Steakhouse I highly suggest you give it a try and below I’m sharing my five reasons why you should.
- Great Value: The price for an adult is only $38 per person. When compared to my other steakhouse experiences I find the value to be remarkable for what you receive from Carnival. The price includes an appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert.
- Perfect for Special Occasions: If you’re celebrating any special occasions on the ship the steakhouse is the perfect place to celebrate. It’s a lot more private than the dining room, and the ambiance is very romantic.
- Nice Portion Sizes: You won’t leave the steakhouse hungry at all. I could say that is true for dining with Carnival. The portion sizes are very nice and filling.
- A Variety of Options: The steakhouse has a variety of options for guests, even if you don’t eat steak as much or want to try something different. They have quite a few options on the menu for guests.
- Free Wine: Yes you read that right. Guests dining on the first night of the cruise or the first elegant night are treated to a complimentary bottle, or wine or 50% off their selected bottle.
Reservations are suggested for visiting the steakhouse although it’s not required. The whole experience takes about two and a half hours, so be sure to plan accordingly.
