A few weeks ago I posted my first video game review from Little Orbit. It was for their Monster High 13 Wishes Video game. I got it for my daughter to play since she’s a fan of the Life in a Dreamhouse show. When she first started playing it on our Wii she was so frustrated. She got upset because she wasn’t winning the games and challenges. I told her to calm down and take her time, follow the instructions and she would get it. About thirty minutes into playing she got the hang of some of the games and was winning, so those were her favorites at first.
The first thing you do in the game is dress your Barbie character. Of course there are lots of basic options and you unlock more with the game. There is a series of mini games that each has a different challenge and whoever is faster or the best wins. The mini games include:
The Make-Up Mini Game: Each player has three minutes to apply make-up to as many faces as possible. This is one of the first games my daughter started to figure out and was fun for her to do on her own. She’s only six so she was getting frustrated but an older girl would breeze through the game. It’s just about being fast and steady at the same time.
The Accessories Mini Game – You have to follow the prompt on the screen and change your character’s items to whatever is on the screen. This game was a little bit harder for my daughter because she couldn’t keep up with the computer in changing in time. Either she was scrolling too fast past the item or too slow and a computer character beat her to it. The game itself isn’t really hard you just have to concentrate on what’s being changed in the games.
This Cupcake Game is my daughter’s least favorite of the entire game. She just can’t seem to get the hang of it at all and that’s because the computer characters always throw a burnt cupcake on her table which makes her loose all her progress. If she was playing with more human players I think she would do much better in the game. The game is winnable though you just have to get those burnt cupcake before the other characters and take them out one by one.
The Dancing Mini Game – it takes a bit of practice but soon you’ll get the hang of it. My daughter is hit or miss with this game. This one also requires some concentration as well but it’s also fun and exciting when you get an excellent and get the dance moves down.
Overall I will say that it’s a great game and any Barbie fan would really enjoy it. The graphics are cool and the games are fun. There are other mini games as well and the more you play the more you will enjoy the game. Check out the trailer for the game below:
