I recently had the opportunity to review Arctic Chill’s Muddler for my holiday gift guide so when I was asked to do a review by Rizzi at Arctic Chill, I said of course.  I really enjoyed using the muddler and I had a feeling I would enjoy using their Ice Spheres Maker/Mold.  It didn’t take long for the set to arrive in the mail.  When they arrived I took the molds out of the box and washed them with warm soap water, rinsed them off, closed them and filled them with water.  It was super simple and so easy to use.

Arctic Chill’s ice ball maker is made from BPA free silicone, it has a flat bottom so it sits flat in your freezer, that way none of the water leaks out of the opening on the top that you use to fill the molds.  The first time I used them I think I put too much water in the mold and when it froze the spheres expanded and pushed some water through the opening and that froze as well but it wasn’t that much and I just chipped it off before using the spheres.

The sphere fits perfectly in a small drink glass.  It was perfect for those nights when hubby wanted to make him a quick Rum & Coke after work.

After using the sphere from the mold I just rinsed it out, closed it and filled it up again and placed it in my freezer.

Ice sphere in hubby’s drink.  It lasted very long as well.  After his drink the whole sphere didn’t melt so he used it to chill some water for drinking.

These are prefect for any party or celebration you are hosting.  You can use them to make spheres ahead of time and just keep the sphere’s frozen until you are ready to use them.  I would recommend not leaving them in the freezer all the time, if you aren’t using them constantly just was them and store them in your cabinet until you know you will be needing them.  Well keep just one frozen for those nights when you want to have a drink on the fly.  This is a great house warming gift or for someone who likes to host parties.
