I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t watch Captain Marvel before heading to the movies to see Endgame. I’m sure a horrible Marvel fan for that, but I didn’t think it interfered with my take of the movie anyway. I finally got my hands on a copy of the movie and I’ve already watched it three times. It’s amazing and a great addition to the Marvel Universe.
About Captain Marvel
Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that introduces the MCU’s first stand-alone, female-franchise title character—Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. When we first meet Danvers, she already possesses her superhero powers, having left her earthly life behind and become a member of an intergalactic elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by their enigmatic commander, Yon-Rogg. My Thoughts On the Film
I loved Captain Marvel. There was so much awesomeness in this film. I really loved the message of female empowerment in this film. There were several women in power positions in the film. Marvel does an excellent job tying all their movies together, despite it just being released they made sure it lined up with the timeline perfectly.
I admire Captain Marvel and her desire to do what’s right. Once she learned she had been lied to for years, she continued on her mission but to do what was right. She didn’t let it take her off course or change her outlook much.
One of my favorite scenes in the movie was when Carol realizes that the Kree has been inhibiting her power and she broke free of their control to realize her real power. For the longest time she made her feel like her emotions were getting in the way of her being great, but it was actually her emotions that made her realize how great she was.
“Captain Marvel” comes packaged in various formats to best fit today’s varying consumer desires.
