Delicious 30 Minute Meals Delivered from Hello Fresh
Disclosure: I was provided a free Hello Fresh Classic Box as a member of the Mosaic Reviews Team in order to facilitate this review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced.
We live in an era that make things that were impossible a few years ago so easy and simple now that it seems crazy we weren’t doing these things before. I love cooking and trying new dishes with my family. When my husband and I were dating I introduced “New Dish Night” at our house. It gave me the opportunity to try dishes from different countries and cultures and also learn more about cooking and I felt like I was learning more about being a good cook. As a member of the Mosaic Reviews Team I had the opportunity to review a meal delivery service called Hello Fresh. I was super excited because Hello Fresh is a subscription box service that delivers fresh ingredients and recipes to create mouth watering meals for you and your family. I couldn’t wait for my box to arrive to see what recipes we would be trying in our box.
My box arrived with three recipes for us to try. Each meal comes with all fresh ingredients in the perfect portions to create the recipes that was in the box. The idea behind this is to cut down on food waste. I know I almost always cook too much food when I make dinner and when we have leftovers most of it goes to waste. Our review boxes had enough ingredients to create meals for two. The box was packed nice and tight and it was very cool to keep the fresh ingredients from going bad. When my box arrived all I had to do was unpack it and cook the meals. I would suggest cooking them as soon as possible if you don’t plan on freezing the meat, if you get a veggie box then you should definitely cook the meals within a few days. The first recipe I created was Sauteed Chicken with Ginger Parsnips and Carrots.
My husband and I really enjoyed this meal. Neither of us had ever had parsnips before but we both loved it. The recipe was easy to follow and it turned out great. I did have to adjust because I have an allergy to onions and two of my meals came with onions as an ingredient, since I am allergic I don’t even buy or use them so I just tossed them out the house. That’s one thing I think the service could use is an option for customers to leave notes about food allergies since it’s a food delivery service. The second meal I made was a Yogurt Marinated Shrimp.
The Yogurt Marinated Shrimp was easy to make as well. The marinade was easy to make and it still was done in under 30 minutes. I’ll be sharing these recipes separately and sharing more in dept about what I liked about them both on my blog next week so be sure to check back then. My overall experience with Hello Fresh was very good. I didn’t have any problems with ordering or my delivery. My box arrived on the date they said it would and my ingredients were fresh and held up well in shipping. I didn’t have a need to contact the company but according to some of the reviews I’ve read from other members of the review team their customer service department is excellent and they are happy to help with any problems you may have when ordering.
