Make A Christmas Eve Gift Box For Your Kids
You may or may not have seen the picture that went viral from Pinterest that showed a Christmas Eve Gift Box for kids. I always buy my kids new pajamas to have on Christmas Eve night but I never thought about making it into a gift and giving it to them to open. I have to admit I love the idea because they get to open one gift early but I know it’s not a major gift and it’s one that allows us to keep our pajamas tradition. Here’s what I included in the boxes I made for my kids. You can personalize your boxes to include whatever you like in yours.
Item Suggestions For A Christmas Eve Box:
- pajamas
- microwave popcorn packet
- fruit snacks
- m&m’s
- socks
- a movie
- a book
- fun size candy bars
- coloring pages or activity sheets
The idea behind this kind of gift is that you can have so much fun with your kids the night before Christmas. For my kids their boxes are movie night themed. They each got a set of pajamas, a copy of a movie they like, a few snacks and a book that I will read to them when they are going off to sleep. I even got myself some pajamas so I can join in the fun with them. The possibilities for these are endless though. You can do a box with a holiday craft or coloring pages, a baking box would be great for older kids to make treats for Christmas Day, or even if it’s just a good book for them to read – these boxes will build more excitement for Christmas morning. Here’s photos of my two oldest boxes.
This box is for my daughter. It has her pajamas, the newest Sofia the First DVD, snacks, socks and a Tommy Nelson book about Jesus. It’s perfect for Christmas Eve night. We’ll enjoy the movie after we all get dressed in our pajamas. When it’s time for bed we’ll read the book or have it read it to us.
This is my oldest son’s box, it has his pajamas, a movie, underwear, snacks and a book for him. Since we have more than one child we are going to take turns watching the different movies and reading the books. We should be busy for a few hours on Christmas Eve night so they won’t be super occupied with when they can open up the rest of their gifts. This is just a fun and easy project and one you and your kids will enjoy. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
