Compiler Donna Kelderman is a pastor’s wife and mother of six children, one of whom is married. Her family resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where her husband, Mark, is dean of students and spiritual formation at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. Donna is active in the seminary’s Ministry Wives Institute, seeking to teach and encourage wives of the seminary students.
My thoughts:
This is probably one of the most beautifully compiled devotionals that I’ve come across to date. When we struggle we tend to think that we are the only ones this stuff happens to, we begin to question and doubt, next we want to know “Why Me?” We don’t think that we aren’t the first and we won’t be the last person to have struggle in life with so many different things. We don’t believe that others are down and in need of inspiration and uplifting. Kelderman pulled together writings from women who lived centuries ago and use their words to uplift us today. She shows that as old as these writings are they are still relevant today and will continue to be in years to come. She shows that through our faith we are connected to these women and it’s our faith and beliefs that make their words as powerful today as they were when they were first penned. This is a must have for your book shelf and also a great one to gift as well.
