My thoughts:
This book is another in the American Tapestry Series and I have to say that I liked these books way more than I expected at first. This book is built around the Revolutionary War era and Dobson did an excellent job marrying the story of the war and the romance between the main characters in the book. If you are a fan of history, you will love being drawn into the story as well as enjoy the historical details in the book. If you aren’t a fan of history this is a great way to enjoy it and not even know you are learning about the history of our country. I just loved Lydia’s character and I felt like she was someone I wanted to know and befriend. These books really show the role women probably played during these pivotal times in history because often women get overlooked when the facts are told. I also liked that this wasn’t just about a simple romance novel but about the difficult decisions that all these characters faced during this time period. I truly have a new appreciation for the past
