Saving Memories Forever Review
Losing someone you love is tough, and at first you just think of them not being around any more and you go through the grief and the pain and then it starts to really hit you that they are really gone and you won’t be seeing them ever again. We then turn the pictures and memories of those people. Sometimes we have them on home video and we start to look over those again and sometimes we don’t have video we would just love to hear their voices one more time. When my husband lost his grand mother over a year ago he was heartbroken. By the time he thought of getting her on video she was in late stages of dementia, she barely knew who he was so getting her to talk about memories and things like that with him was impossible. All he ended up doing was getting her on tape singing. He loves listening to her sing but he would also love to get some of those memories she had on that tape. Saving Memories Forever is part mobile app, part online site that helps you record and store all those precious memories from you and your family members.
Here’s how to get started. Visit the Saving Memories Forever website or your app market and download the app. Sign up online. You can get an account for free or pay $3.99 per month or $40.00 per year. The premium membership has more benefits. Once you are signed up you can add your storyteller(s) – you have a limit of 2 for free accounts and unlimited for premium accounts. That’s how easy it is to get started with this app. Now you are ready to record your stories here’s a few photos from the Saving Memories Forever site to show you the process of recording and sharing your stories.
When you are ready to record just enter the storytellers and select the person that will be telling the story. Remember you only get 2 with the free app but you get an unlimited amount with the premium app and you also get to add your photograph.
The next step is to choose the age range for your particular story. This is a very neat feature because you can record early years memories, teenage years, all that stuff. This was a very appealing feature for me because often when we recall memories we pick certain ones. This gives you the ability to record some of those memories that you just didn’t think you would record. I loved the idea of being able to record the memory of my first day of school and be able to share it with my children on their first days to see if we both had the same feelings or experiences.
Now you get to choose the story you plan to record. They have some pre-written questions for you or you can create your own. To get started I recommend you answer the ones already in the app and then start to add your own questions as you get more and more familiar with the app and how the program works. Each storyteller on your account will have the ability to record these stories and store them online.
Now all you have to do is hit the record button and start telling your story. You can take your time and speak clearly so when someone is listening they understand what you are saying. Saving Memories Forever does recommend you keep stories to about five minutes but I think that’s a lot of time to tell most stories. Speak directly into the speaker on your cell phone so your story is clear when recorded. When you’re done recording hit the stop button and continue.
Now that you are done recording you can choose to share on Facebook or go back home. You can playback your recording or re-record if you don’t like how it sounds. You don’t have to be nervous about your story just relax and have fun. Once you are done upload it to the Saving Memories Forever site and it’s there in your account. You can share it with others for them to listen to it or just keep it private it’s really up to you.
This is such an amazing product and having a free option makes it easy to try it out and see how much you like it. Plus its not that expensive if you do decide to get a premium membership. Just imagine having all those stories to share with others. You can take advantage of family gathering and holidays to get even more stories. This is also great for military families. Be sure to visit them online and learn more about Saving Memories Forever and the people behind this product.
