Our older son is a huge Spider-Man fan, he couldn’t wait to head to theaters to see the newest addition to the Marvel Universe and the Spiderman series of films. Spider-Man No Way Home was one of the first movies we saw since the pandemic started, and my son saw it at least four times before the official in home release on Blu-ray & DVD.
Spider-Man No Way Home in home release date was April 12th, and it was one night my son was looking forward to just as much as the in theaters release. As soon as our copy arrived we knew a family movie night was going to be on the agenda. We couldn’t wait to plan our entertaining night with Peter Parker and Steven Strange. There was so much to enjoy while watching the film, it was good from the start all throughout the film.
We all know that Peter was facing lots of criticism due to the ending of the last film and how he was set up. I was not sure what to expect in this film with the addition of Doctor Strange, however, I was hoping his secret would get covered up early and we could see him and MJ’s relationship blossom. I am a huge fan of love stories in all films even action adventure films like Spiderman. Marvel though gave us so much more to desire and enjoy with the film.
Return of the Enemies
Fans of the Spiderman series were treated with the ultimate surprise with the return of the enemies of Spiderman movies past. All the bad guys my son had in action figures suddenly had meaning again, since they reappeared in this film. It was an awesome experience to see the characters from all the different films return to this movie. I was excited when Jamie Foxx showed up on the screen in this movie. What was even more exciting was seeing the previous versions of Spiderman appear in this film to help out their fellow brother.
Overall the movie was very touching, and it even made me cry during a few scenes. The whole family got a kick out of seeing everything unfold, especially when more characters got added to the film. There’s so much to gather from the film, however, in the end I think it showed us that at times the best decision may not be what’s best for us. Peter had to make some hard choices in the film and in the end he did what was right. I can’t wait to see where Marvel takes Peter Parker next.
