Summer season has officially kicked off at Hersheypark and we are ready for the new season and all the exciting changes happening at the park. With all the changes there are quite a few things that special needs families need to know before making their trip to the park.
New Characters
Hersheypark got a huge facelift in multiple areas of the park. The addition of Reese’s Cupfusion means there were new characters added to the park. Be sure to keep an eye out for the new characters when they are walking around the park along with old favorites. Head over to Reese’s Cupfusion for special character interactions.
Guests visiting with a child with special needs should let the park staff working with the character know your child has special needs, they’ll help you get your photo taken with the character. They’ll even snap photos for you, so you can get in the photos with your kid/s.
Fellow Sweetest Families Member Meredith at The Mother of the Year shared a great post with all the inside scoop on Reese’s Cupfusion and she’s also giving away four free tickets to Hersheypark.
New Entrance and Tram Stop
Hersheypark announce the addition of Hershey’s Chocolate Town opening Summer 2020 and since breaking ground a lot of changes have been happening around the park. The entrance got a new look and the tram got a major refresh. The process of boarding and unboarding has been refreshed and streamlined to make it more efficient.
Hersheypark also moved the entrance to the park, while the small hill you usually walk when you first enter the park is gone, there is a short walk to the new entrance. There are temporary restrooms outside the gate for guests to use.
If you’re planning on using the Ride Accessibility Pass the office is now located right before the entrance of the park. Stop in the Hospitality Services office to sign up for the pass and then scan your tickets or season pass at the special entrance right outside the building.
Fellow Sweetest Families Member Ashley at Ashely & Co has a great post up about all the summer fun at Hersheypark and she is also giving way a four pack of tickets to the park.
Know Where to Go to Find Quiet Places
Traveling with our kids can be challenging at times but knowing where all the quiet places are in the park really help us when our son needs a break. I also recommend park guests visit the food area in Zoo America for quicker service. The tree-lined areas are great for getting some shade during the hot summer months.
There are quiet areas in the park for families as well but with all the changes for the upcoming addition to the park
