Last week my husband and I finally cleaned out our storage unit and got rid of a lot of junk, found some items to bring back to our house, and donated a boat load of items we no longer needed. While digging through a box of books, I found the cute baby book my sister gave me when I was pregnant with our youngest. Inside I filled out his would be name at the time, and a few details about my husband and I. That’s as far as I got. My husband laughed, but it stung me a bit.
I’ll be honest, my youngest is the last of four children. He was born two and a half years behind our son with Autism. He’s a product of our relaxed parenting style. There aren’t boatloads of baby photos of him hung all over the house. Most of his photos are stuck on the internet. I don’t even think I carried a baby bag when I had him. I just stuffed all his things in my backpack that I used for a purse and kept it moving. When Little Book at You reached out to me about reviewing their product I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it didn’t stop me from saying yes and giving it a try.
Disclosure: I received my Little Book Of You for review purposes, any opinions expressed are my own.
When I started the process of creating my Little Book of You for Mason, I didn’t know what we were getting. I had clicked around on the site a bit but quickly placed my order and waited for my book to arrive. According to the Little Book of You website it takes fifteen minutes to complete the book. I think it took me less time. However, imagine being able to create a custom baby book in minutes. Instead of spending months writing out details and collecting facts for your baby book, you can spend a few minutes and get the perfect gift.
What You Need To Create Your Book
Aside from the fifteen minutes, you need to answer a few questions. The book requires you to enter the following information about the child:
- Full Name
- Name Child Goes By
- Birthday
- Birth Time
- Weather on Child’s Birthday
- Birth Weight
- Birth Height
- Hospital or Place of Birth
- Geographic Location of Birth
- 4-16 Family Members Names and Their Relationship
- 1-8 People the Child First Met
- Doctor or Midwife’s Name (Optional)
- First Home Address
- Explanation of Why Their Name was Chosen
- 1-3 Nicknames
Beautiful Details
Our book arrived in less than two weeks, so if you’re planning on getting one for the holidays you still have time to order. Once the book arrived and I opened it up I was blown away by the beautiful details. It was amazing. I love the watercolor graphics that tells my son’s story so well. There are three cover choices for the Little Book of You. I choose one for boys. There are also choices for girls and a unisex color option.
Quick Family Tree
One feature I loved in the book was the ability to create a quick family tree. You choose what family members you include in your child’s book (up to sixteen) members. It’s a great way to show some of the members on your family tree. I love sitting with Mason and showing him the names of people in his family.
The Little Book of You consists of thirty-two illustrated pages filled with a completely personalized story of your child. The best thing about the book is that it’s not just for new parents. You can create a book for children eleven and under. This is perfect for parents like me who just couldn’t find time to create a baby book. Marina and James, the creators of Little Book of You, took their time creating something special. When you open this book and browse the pages, you know they put a lot of though and effort into creating the book. Parents will love getting the gift of Little Book of You.
I love sitting down with my son and reading this book to him every night. Getting to share his birth story with him over and over again. It’s a perfect reminder to him that he was a special gift for our family, that we were excited for his arrival, and he continues to be a one of our greatest gifts.
Mason likes to open the book and tell us stories from the photos in the book. He’s still too young to read the book on his own, but one day he’ll be reading the book to us.
Besides the memories we have from creating the book, Mason will also get to have these memories to share with his own children one day.
If you’re ready to create your own Little Book of You, head over to their website and start building. It’s easy, fast, and a great gift that you will cherish for years to come. The Little Book of You costs $49.95 to create your own book, or to gift one to someone else.
