My Black Panther Red Carpet Experience
Hollywood came out in full support for all things Black Panther this week. Being able to participate in this historic occasion was a life experience that I will never forget. I literally had the hottest ticket in Hollywood and it definitely lived up to any and all expectations I had.
When we arrived to walk to the carpet for the film I was filled with excitement. I wasn’t sure who we would see or how it would go but I couldn’t wait to get out there and be apart of this process. As soon as we entered the area you could sense the pride. African drums played in the distance, the Dora Malaje stood protecting the attendees walking on the carpet, and beautiful colors were used in jaw-dropping outfits.
What I Wore for My Red Carpet Look
Finding the right outfit was a challenge for me at first. I started with a Black Faux Leather Ball Skirt from Anges and Dora that I had purchased last year. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep that skirt or change to something else. I shopped for a few options and picked up a cute African Print skirt but ended up sticking to my black skirt.
For my shirt, I ended up with a White 7th Avenue Tie Detail Statement Sleeve Shirt from New York & Company. When I saw it I knew it would go perfectly with my skirt and it did make me feel even more beautiful.
Since I wasn’t going to wear a necklace I ended up picking my arm candy from a local favorite. New Vintage By SAM offers beautiful handmade bracelets and more. I love the pieces she creates and I knew they would help me finish off my outfit in style.
Walking on that carpet was so much fun. We had the opportunity to really mix and mingle with some of the celebrities as well. Once we entered the Dolby Theater though we really had the opportunity to see tons of celebrities like Usher, Janel Monet, Sterling Brown, Snoop, Jamie Foxx, John David Washington, and more. It was truly a night to remember. When the cast was introduced everyone cheered with excitement. And when the opening scene started to play we settled in for what turned out to be one of the best Marvel films to date.
Be sure to stop back next week for my review of the film. Black Panther opens in theaters on February 16th, 2018. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet I suggest you get them ASAP.
