Tune In For the Fifth Annual Radio Disney Music Awards

If you’re a fan of music you won’t want to miss the fifth anniversary of the Radio Disney Music Awards airing on Sunday. Tune in to celebrate along with performances by some of the biggest artists along with tomorrow’s rising stars in music. A special two-hour telecast, “Disney Channel Presents the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards,” will be presented Sunday, April 30th at 7/6c on Disney Channel.

L.A. traffic cut our Radio Disney experience short but we arrived at the ABC Building to celebrate and play trivia games with Radio Disney on-air personality Candice Huckeba. 

We checked out the cool Ardy Tsum Tsum on the table and enjoyed some snacks that were RDMA themed. For the fifth anniversary there will be five hosts; Sofia Carson, Alex Aiono, Kelsea Ballerini, Jordan Fisher, and Jenna Ortega.

This year’s Hero Award Honoree is Nick Jonas. The multiplatinum recording artist, songwriter, actor, and philanthropist, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 13 years old and has used his platform to help shed light on the condition. Jonas also founded Beyond Type 1, a non-profit organization which leverages the power of social media and technology to provide resources for those living with Type 1 diabetes, and provides funding for research, education, advocacy and programs to improve the lives of those living with Type 1 diabetes. Jonas will be presented with the award by longtime friend and fellow advocate, actor Jack Black. Jonas is nominated for three categories at the 2017 RDMA, including  “He’s The One – Best Male Artist”.

Britney Spears will be presented with the first-ever RDMA “Icon” Award, which recognizes a distinguished artist whose career transcends popular culture and whose music is loved by generations of Radio Disney fans.

Winners will be announced on SATURDAY, APRIL 29, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with performances by Kelsea Ballerini, Hailee Steinfeld, Alessia Cara, Noah Cyrus, Julia Michaels, Grace VanderWaal, Jordan Fisher, Train and more. A special two-hour telecast, “Disney Channel Presents the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards,” will be presented SUNDAY, APRIL 30 (7:00-9:00 p.m. EDT), in the U.S. across multiple Disney-branded platforms.
