Disneyland New Releases and Additions
With 60 years in business and two magical theme parks, Disneyland presents a great mix of outstanding entertainment, dining as well as shopping districts. Located a few miles South of Anaheim, California, Disneyland resort also features an assortment of classic rides and several newer additions. The company’s executive recently announced a slew of new releases and additions to its empire. Here is a look into some of the notable Disneyland’s additions and new film releases.
Star Wars Land
Come January 2016, the construction of an expansive Star Wars-themed land will commence in Disneyland. Featuring two different parks, each of which being 14-acres, this promises to be the largest single-themed park expansions ever in Disneyland’s history. One of the parks will be at Disneyland in Anaheim, while the other one in Orlando, Florida, the home of Disney World.
Riding on the popularity of the various Star Wars movies set to be released over the coming years, the company aims at offering its visitors a taste of how it feels to not only fly on the Millennium Falcon, but also dining in a Star Wars cantina, such as the one visited by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope.
Each of the parks will feature two primary attractions. In one of the attractions, visitors will fly what is dubbed the “secret mission” on board the Millennium Falcon. The second attraction involves a battle that pits visitors against the Resistance from Star Wars – the Force Awakens – and the New Order. The population of the parks will not only include characters from the new movies, but the classic Star Wars trilogy, as well. The characters may also include some of the fan favourites.
The Incredibles 2 and Cars 3
In addition to the Star Wars- themed park, the company has also announced the release of several movies in the next 5 years. This includes Pixar Animation Studios’ Cars 3 and the sequel to The Incredibles, set to be released in 2017 and 2019, respectively. The original Cars came out in 2006. It was directed by John Lasseter and featured some of the best voice talents of Bonnie Hunt, Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, and Larry the Cable Guy.
Disneytoon Studios released the sequel to Cars in 2011. Nonetheless, Cars 3 will be developed through Pixar directly. It has taken the place initially reserved for Toy Story 4, whose release has since been pushed to June 2018.
Meanwhile, fans have been requesting the sequel to The Incredibles for the last decade. The movie’s writer/director Brad Bird said that he was open to another adventure, but with the condition, that it has a truly captivating story concept behind it. However, even with the announcement of Incredible 2 release, it is not yet clear whether Brad will be involved, though he is still in close ties with Disney.
Disneyland is awe-inspiring, engaging, and entertaining; a fantastic break from everyday work routines and stress, making a calm entry into the world of entertainment. It is indeed a family adventure. It provokes instantaneous memories with its numerous attractions and mementos.
