My First Visit to Disneyland for Disneyland 60
Thanks to blogging this year I had the opportunity to visit both Disney World and Disneyland for the first time in my life. A week ago exactly I was enjoying my time in Disneyland and learning about all the special things they were doing in regards to Disneyland 60.
I attended a blogger media event for #Disneyland60, #AladdinBloggers, and #TomorrowlandBloggers. Travel and accommodations were covered by Disney Home Entertainment, all opinions expressed are my own.
I didn’t know what to expect when visiting the park, all my blogger friends had given me great tips to enjoy the night but I had no idea what it would be like. We spent the entire Monday at the park, we started our day at around 11 AM with interviews with talent from Tomorrowland in the Lincoln Theater in the park. We entered from backstage, being that it was my first time I didn’t even know I was in the park until we were “on stage”. It was so pretty to see all the Halloween decorations in the park. I couldn’t wait for our free time to explore and enjoy the park.
After the interviews we had lunch in the theater, it was one of the cutest box lunches I’ve even seen. Our lunch and dessert was packaged in a diamond-shaped box.
I loved the cute diamond boxes that held out lunches. The top portion contained our dessert and at the bottom was our sandwich, fruit and a side of macaroni salad. Yummy and a great way to fuel up before we headed into the park for our special tour with two park ambassadors.
Our first part of the tour lead us to the actual boat that they used in the Tomorrowland movie. I had the opportunity to take my photo with Cori, Brenda and Mary. Shortly after we left the boat was moved to prepare for the Paint the Night Parade. Next we rode It’s A Small World as a group. Did you know they use fabrics and accent pieces from the native country of all the children’s countries represented on the ride. If you’ve been on the ride recently you may have noticed the addition of popular Disney characters.
Toy Story is my son’s favorite movie of all time so I had to snap a shot of Buzzlighter when walking into the Astro Blasters ride. I didn’t score highly so I didn’t snap a photo of my score.
We all rode the Indiana Jones and Hunted Mansion rides as a group. We were heading to Matterhorn and it broke down while we were in line so we headed for Star Tours instead and through the Disneyland Castle for a few mild rides.
The weather that day was perfect and I loved seeing all the lovely decorations and nods to Disneyland turning 60. You could tell that they put a lot of planning and effort into preparing for year sixty.
I even had the opportunity to visit California Adventure and it was off to Cars Land then we grabbed a bite to eat and ended the night with Soarin’ Over California. I love that ride, especially the part where you smell the scent of fresh oranges.
While heading back over to Disneyland for the Paint the Night Parade we stopped for a group photo at the entrance area. I had a blast hanging with my group and we couldn’t wait for the parade.
You know you’re with a group of blogger when we all take out phones to snap photos of our ice-cream treats from Main Street. LOL. I got a scoop of chocolate ice-cream in a chocolate dipped waffle cone with Halloween sprinkles.
Shelby B of OC Mom Blog took some awesome photos of the Paint the Night Parade. Check out her post to see what other photos she shared about the Parade and Disneyland 60. (Photo Credit: Shelby B of OC Mom Blog). After the parade we also watched the fireworks show.
The most special part of this trip for me besides hanging with an awesome group was getting to take photos with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. They showed up where we were having lunch to take photos with us in their special Disneyland 60 costumes. These diamond themed outfits will be retired this year. You still have lots of time to plan a trip to Disneyland to celebrate the 60th with them.
