Quality+Imagination= Original Stitch
Hey Nicki’s readers,
I am Steve, her loving husband who you may have read about in her previous post. With my blog www.OkGent.com being down for maintenance, I have decided to contribute to my beautiful wife’s blog for all things male. My second post is for this great company Original Stitch (O.S.). I have spent most of my professional life in dress shirts and i have worn every brand of shirt imaginable and nothing is better than a shirt made for you by you. Based out of San Francisco Original Stitch is a custom shirt company that gives its customers the ultimate creative license and let’s them create their own shirt, selecting everything from fabrics to monogram font.
I consider myself to be fashionable gentleman, and I jumped at the chance to make my own custom shirt, but at six-foot and 300 pounds I have always had a problem with fit. I have the wingspan of someone six-foot five, with a nineteen inch neck, so you can imagine the issues I run into when it comes to getting a proper fit. Because of this I love tailored clothing, but money is an issue when you purchase custom tailored shirts often, O.S. is great because they keep their process simple. You can go to your local dry cleaner or tailor and get a measurement card filled out or simply purchase your tape measure and use the easy to understand directions on their website. Because I was familiar with the measurement process I was able to use my own tape measure and do it myself.

The process was cool, I started with my fabric, then my collar and cuffs, buttons, shirt fit, and then monogram stitching. With over a thousand combinations available and the ability to make either a dress shirt or a casual shirt the possibilities are endless. O.S. is able to meet you where you are from being a high school senior need a shirt for graduation or you are a CEO of a flourishing company and are designing a shirt for a news article featuring you. Gingham, paisley, stripes, plaids, and numerous other patterns are at your disposal, I was able to show my style and create a quality dress shirt that I have received complements on every time I have worn it. Kudos to Original Stitch for simplifying an expensive process and making it affordable for the working gentleman to look great and express their own style. I also have to say that customer service at O.S. is top-notch. When I had problems with my shirt fit, they were quick to help me resolve the problem and getting my shirt replaced was easy.
