Shea Moisture Women’s Shave Collection Review
When you’re young there are some things you never have to worry about. One of them for me was my skin. As I’ve gotten older I’ve had to do more things to make sure my skin look just as good as it did when I was growing up. I’ve been trying all kinds of awesome Shea Moisture products recently and I’ve been loving their products. They recently launched their Women’s Shave collection and I received a few items from the collection for review. Any opinions I share are my own.
I received four items from the shave collection for review. Included in my package was the Honey & Black Seed Sugar Wax, After Shave Regenerative Lotion and the Skin Healing Elixir. I also received the African Black Soap Shave Butter Creme from the Men’s Shave Collection. Each of these products were created to help you have a better shaving experience. Even with the best razor on the market, you still need additional products to keep your skin healthy and beautiful.
The Honey & Black Seed No Heat Sugar Wax is perfect for legs, bikini area, arms and under arms. The wax doesn’t need to be heated so you don’t have to worry about it burning your skin. It’s applied at body temperature, it’s water soluble and contains no mineral oils or petroleum jelly. That means that you can easily wash it off the excess with soap and water. Have you ever waxed before and remember how it was? This sugar wax is nothing like the old waxing products you’ve tried in the past. You can use it straight from the shelf or when it arrives in the mail. Great for when you want smooth legs, perfect for summer when you want to reduce the time between shaving. I like that you can use this product under your arms. The most problematic area for me is under my arms. I always worry about getting an ingrown hair. With the sugar wax I can say goodbye to shaving knicks and stubble within two – three days. It’s a great product to add to your beauty regime.
The Honey & Black Seed Skin Healing Elixir is a great companion for the sugar wax. The healing elixir contains Aboriginal Tea Tree oil, organic Jojoba oil, unrefined African Shea Butter, With Hazel, Black Seed Oil and Vitamin A, B & E. The elixir provides instant relief and and moisture while protecting your open pores from bacteria. I recommend getting the healing elixir if you are planning on waxing often. It helps with skin irritation and redness. I have even used it on my skin when I shave because it helps keep my skin soft and slows down regrowth.
The Honey & Black Seed After Shave Regenerative Lotion soothes, nourishes and condition skin after any hair removal. So this is a product you can use whether you’re waxing or shaving. The skin perfecting Black Seed Oil and moisturizing Honey blend with organic Shea & Cocoa Butters, and natural Gymnema Sylvestre Leaf Extract all create a luxurious After Shave Smoothing Moisturizer. This works like a lotion for your skin and it can be used daily. I loved applying it after waxing or shaving my legs. It left my legs smooth and soft, plus it didn’t dry my skin out. I also didn’t have to worry about this making my skin feel icky or sweaty after using in this summer heat. The lotion has a nice lite fragrance that wasn’t over powering at all. This is defiantly a product you want to add to your must have product list. I’ve been raving about it to my mom and sisters because I really like how it’s been working for my skin. It makes my skin radiant and soft after every use.
The African Black Soap Shave Butter Creme is great for all skin types. The shave butter creme is specially formulated with African Black Soap, organic Shea Butter and healing oils of Coconut, Black Seed, Juniper and Willow Bark Extract. It helps delivers the closest shave possible with no razor drag while healing ingrown hairs, razor bumps and skin discolorations. This shave creme can be used on beards and scalps. The creme I am planning to pass on to my father. He still shaves using a regular razor and one his biggest problems is razor bumps and ingrown hairs. I grew up watching my father shave and seeing the effects it’s had on his skin over time. With this product he’ll get some help with those shaving problems and also getting a product that works towards nourishing and repairing his skin. I’m hoping he sees some great results. Now that he’s getting older I want him to have the best. This should not only help him look good but feel good about shaving as well.
All these shaving products can be purchased on the Shea Moisture website as well as nationally at select Targets. Products range in prices from $7.99 to $11.99. They are all very affordable and they also make great gifts if you’re looking for any care package gift ideas.
