The housekeeping gods smiled on me and sent me a great resource to use in my home.  Okay I don’t know any housekeeping gods but I was sent a wonderful package from the folks at Downy.  Thanks to them I had the opportunity to review Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus and now I want to share my thoughts with you.  I honestly have to say that I was quite surprised at how great this product really works.

When this package arrived it was like Christmas time again for me again.  I received several bottles to use including a travel sizes, plus a t-shirt to test out the product and see just how great it works.  Honestly I loathe ironing.  I always have and I always will.  I just can’t stand it at all.  Thank goodness for my awesome husband who will iron my clothes if it’s just overly filled with wrinkles.  I would change my clothes before ironing.  When I first met my husband he would even iron his jeans.  He’s become more relaxed with ironing but he still does it several times a week.  The beauty of this product is that you can use it as an ironing aid.  It does state that on the bottle and my husband has used it when ironing.  Instead of putting water in the iron for steam he just sprays some on his clothing and iron.  His dress shirts and slacks comes out neatly pressed like he took them to the cleaners.

The new Downy Wrinkle Releaser touts 101 uses.  Yes this one bottle according to Downy has a whole lot of uses.  You can use it to eliminate odor from clothing, as a fabric refresher, and a static remover just to list a few.  Plus you can use it on your curtains, sheets, table cloths, pillowcases and more.  It’s great for traveling.  Overall it’s a very good product.  I know you’re probably wondering does it really help remove wrinkles from your clothing and I have to say that it does.  As a matter of fact it worked much better that I ever imagined.

The first time I took the product for a test run was on my son’s shirt one morning before school.  As you can see his shirt has lots of wrinkles.  Of course ironing is out of the question for me so this was my quick solution.

According to the directions on the bottle you spray your piece of clothing until it’s slightly damp.  You want to make sure you get enough of the solution on your clothing so it works.  Next you tug & smooth out the piece of clothing so help pull out some of the wrinkles and hang clothing to dry for about ten minutes.  The day I used it I didn’t even have the ten minutes.  I just wanted some of those wrinkles to fad from his shirt.

This is his shirt after I sprayed and pulled and smoothed it.  As you can see there are a lot less wrinkles and by the time he was out the door five minutes later there were hardly any wrinkles at all.  It really did make a huge difference in how I care for my laundry.  Now when dress shirts and clothing that usually requires ironing leaves the dryer I simply spray the shirts, pull and smooth them and hang them up.  By the time my husband is ready or my sons to wear their dress shirts they are wrinkle free and ready for wear.  I highly recommend this great product.  It’s a must for your linen closets.
