Kids Hair Care Products from SheaMoisture
My first time using SheaMoisture was their Baby Eczema Bar. I received it through a special promotion. I have also had the opportunity to review their Men’s Hair Care collection and their baby products for Sensitive Skin. Thanks to SheaMoisture I am reviewing the Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Butter Cream & the Extra-Moisturizing Detangler and the Mango & Carrot Extra Nourishing Shampoo. These are three of the four products on their website for kid’s hair care. I couldn’t wait to get the products to try them with my daughter.
My daughter has a full head of hair and it’s not easy to maintain. One of my biggest challenges is keeping her hair moist and detangling it after washing. I have had a few friends recommend these products to me and when I posted my photo on Facebook, a few of them had rave reviews of their own. They all seem to love the products and all proclaim how great they work on their kids hair.
The Mango & Carrot Extra Moisturizing Shampoo worked wonders getting my daughter’s hair clean. Usually I have to worry about getting all the build up and gunk from her hair weekly. When I used this shampoo it helped lift all the build up, gunk and extra dirt & grease from her hair. Now that it’s warmer outside and she is going out to play for recess, she has more sand and dirt in her hair. I was very impressed with the shampoo and I loved the way her hair smelt after wash. It smelt amazing. The shampoo is formulated to gently cleanse and detangle children’s fine and delicate hair. It helps nourish and strengthen hair while protecting against breakage. Each of the main ingredients contributes to the efficiency of the product: Mango Butter – a moisture-rich emollient leaves hair feeling silky. Carrot Oil – nourishes hair, helping to prevent breakage and promote growth. Orange Blossom – soothes sensitive scalps. The suggest retail price is $9.99 and you can find it at retailers such as Target and Walgreens nationwide.
The Coconut & Hibiscus Extra Moisturizing Detangler is hair rescue in a bottle. I could spend hours raving about how great this worked. I was so stunned and how amazing it was. I’ve used lots and I mean lots of kids detangler before. Not one of them work no way near as great as this product. I honestly can say it far surpassed any expectations I had going in. Usually when wash and comb day arrives I dread it more than my daughter does. It’s a war of wills and I always seem to end up frustrated, tired and on the losing team. She’s usually scream at the top of lung for no reason at least in my opinion. Half the time I give up and just let her wear a puff-ball. The first time I used this detangler I was in awe of how quiet she was about me combing her hair. After washing I sprayed some on her hair and waited a few minutes. It was so easy to path her hair into smaller sections to comb it out. For added measure I sprayed a light mist on each section and it really helped her hair. She hardly had any breakage and he hair was very manageable. The detangler is made of natural and certified organic ingredients. It detangles, defines, and tames your child’s thick, wavy or unruly hair without greasiness. It also conditions while it adds luster to dry & dull hair. The main ingredients in this product: Coconut Oil – hydrates and protects while adding curl definition. Hibiscus Flower – adds shine while maintaining volume. Slippery Elm Extract – is a smoothing and soothing emollient. The suggested retail price is $9.99 and can be found at retailers such as Target and Walgreens nationwide.
Which finally brings me to the Coconut and Hibiscus Curling Butter Cream. This really helped her hair remain soft and bouncy while I was combing it. It’s light and not so heavy that it weighs down your hair. It’s a leave in product and when I used it with the detangler it really helped reduce breakage. It also helped my daughter’s hair with frizzing and she was able to keep her hair style all week. In the past by Wednesday her hair would start to frizz very badly but this helped with holding her hair down. I also really enjoyed the smell of this product. It had her hair smelling amazing the whole week. Even after she was outside at school playing in the sun. The curling butter cream keeps your child’s hair shapely and resilient with a soft, shiny hold. It provides definition while taming frizz and flyaways for a smooth bouncy curl. The main ingredients are the same as the detangler and the suggested retail price is also $9.99 and it can be found at retailers such as Target and Walgreens.
