My Friend Teddy Review
Teddy Bears have come a long way from when I was a child growing up. Stores like Build-A-Bear and other companies have taken them to a whole new level, away from those brown furry bears I use to have as a child. My children have bears of their favorite characters, bears with fancy clothing and new they have an interactive talking bear called Teddy. Genesis Toys sent us a My Friend Teddy to review and share our thoughts.
When the My Friend Teddy arrived the kids were super excited about testing him out. They couldn’t wait to get started with him. I downloaded the Android app on my son’s tablet and started the registration process. You have to put the batteries into Teddy before starting with the app. IT does require three AA batteries. You will also need a screw driver to open the battery box panel. This panel is located on the back of Teddy. Download the app from the app store and start the process. The app has a section where you can put in information about your child so when Teddy interacts with your child it’s personal. We were doing well with out bear until the second page to enter information. It wouldn’t let us put in any information into the fields or skip past them. We have tried downloading the app again and trying it on a phone with the same results.
I’ve read great reviews from other people about My Friend Teddy so I am not sure why ours wasn’t working for us. We were able to still play with Teddy and some of its features. My non-verbal son likes to have it to read to him but our experience wasn’t very personalized. My seven and eight year old were better with interacting with Teddy. It’s not really something our younger children could use properly. Over time the kids got better with listening and interacting with Teddy. I will say that it is a cool toy but there are a few kinks that need to be worked out. I should also note that if you do have problems there is a contact form on the My Friend Teddy website.
