Before You Throw it Out – Yerdle!

Before You Throw it Out – Yerdle!

It’s Earth Day and Earth Day is about caring for our planet.  People all around the globe is finding ways to help conserve in an effort to save our planet and keep it healthy.  Some are turning off their electronics, recycling, reusing, upcycling and anything else they can think of to help the environment.  In honor of Earth Day I would like to share with you a new app/site that is encouraging you to share your items or swap them instead of throwing them out.  So like it says in my title before you throw it out – Yerdle!  The concept of the site is pretty simple and straight forward and since they launch nationwide shipping this February your options has greatly increased for finding something awesome at a really cheap price or for free.  Currently Yerdle is only available in the iTunes app store.

Getting started is very easy.  When you visit the site you can sign up or when you launch the app.  You get 250 credits when you sign up to get you started with the app.  You first see what’s available from other users and you can click on the photos for more information.

Personally I haven’t posted anything on the site but you can do it from you phone, making it easy to list your items on the site.

I’ve only used the website but the app offers much more functions and you have the ability to search, check activity and more.

I had the opportunity to order something from the site.  I got a sample set of conditioners, shampoos, lotions, and stuff like that.  It was super easy to use the site.  I clicked on the item on the Yerdle website, click on the get it button and they took the credits from my account and then I had the option of setting up a local pickup or shipping.  Since I am not local I had mines shipped for $3.oo and I paid using Amazon Payments.  It was super simple and easy to use.  If you’re local you can find some awesome deals and just arrange pickup or put some of your items on there to gather some points.  Items on the site changes often and good items are taken very quickly.  I would check the site or app a few times a week or daily to see what’s new.  This is a great way to pass on items you are no longer using and you don’t want to just throw out.  It’s a win-win.

About Yerdle

Yerdle helps you give and get great things for free.

Right now, thousands of items are being shared on yerdle, from camping gear to kid’s toys. We are a community powered by generosity.

All you have to do is give to get. Members post items they’re willing to give away, and yerdle connects them to a grateful receiver. It makes sense when you consider that 80% of the items in our homes are used less than once a month, and self-storage is up 1,000% over the past 30 years.

Yerdle’s mission is to reduce the durable consumer goods we all need to buy by 25%. Why shop when you can share?

You can also connect with them via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
