Koo Koo Kanga Roo – May Tour Dates & New Single
I’ve never heard of Koo Koo Kanga Roo until a press release hit my inbox today about their newest single “The Coolest Person” and their May tour dates. Normally it would take me some time to get around to checking out stuff like this that I never requested but I was intrigued for one reason – The AquaBats! Yes Koo Koo Kanga Roo is on tour with the AquaBats and since my kids are all Yo Gabba Gabba nuts I couldn’t resist checking this out. I have to say I am so glad that I did because the single is awesome – well at least I think so and now me and the kids have another song to listen to in the car.
I love discovering new music and artist because it exposes me and my children to music we normally wouldn’t listen to or know about and this band is all about having fun. Dancing is so required when listening to their music. “The Coolest Person” is the second single from their upcoming album Whoopty Whoop.
About Whoopty Whoop
“Whoopty Whoop” finds the duo evolving their storytelling to new levels of id, parody, banter and dancingness and it’s clear that the duo have embraced their inner weirdos. The album definitely remains true to their mission of creating positive and exciting music to get the body moving. Since 2008, Koo Koo Kanga Roo have been all over the country putting on shows at preschools, bars, church basements and even nursing homes. The show is centered around acting silly, dancing as hard you can, and sweating. With tracks like, “Shake it Well” (a frothy ode to pulp and pulp-free orange juice alike), “I Like Cake” and the first single “Fanny Pack,” the album showcases Bryan and Neil’s chops in everything from improv dialog to bootyshaking.
“Whoopty Whoop” is out on May 13th on CD/DIGITAL and vinyl will follow June 24th.

About Koo Koo Kanga Roo:
Koo Koo Kanga Roo are BFFs and unicorn enthusiasts Bryan and Neil. These disco dudes have toured all over North America with the likes of The Aquabats, Yo Gabba Gabba Live, Reel Big Fish and Frank Turner. Their high energy dance jams capture the constant desire we all share to eat pizza, push all the buttons on the elevator and to stomp like a dinosaur. With a style that draws on everything from rap and pop punk to whale noises, they embody the sticky fingered spirit of our collective inner kid.
