There is some debate whether the work/life balance should be a balance at all. The argument that, instead of balancing work with a good after-work life, you should work towards enjoying all aspects of your life. What this argument does not take into account is that, regardless of how much you enjoy your job, you still need to focus on things outside of the office, like friends, family, exploring, learning, having fun, and so much more. - Adulthood is hard on friendships. Responsibilities often get in the way of seeing even those you are closest to often. This could be because they don’t live in the same city, or country, or because they are constantly stressed or because, between work and family, there isn’t much time left. That’s okay, but it means that you need to put more effort into seeing your friends. Take classes together. Make it a regular lunch. Go on a trip – whatever works for you, keep at it.
