About the Author:
Paris Morris, prolific teen author creating children’s books related to family vacations and life with baby twin sisters.  Her colorful My Friend Paris series follows a preschooler as she adjusts to her new role as an older sibling, and travels to various places with her family, including Lake Tahoe, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.  She’s recently released a new holiday title,  together with co-author Jackie Singer,  My Twins’ First Christmas.

My thoughts:

This books was perfect for my five year old daughter.  Even though she doesn’t have twin siblings she does have two younger brothers so she does know what it’s like to adjust to new siblings.  This series is a great way to introduce the idea of new siblings to your children.  The book was very easy to read and my daughter had fun reading the words she knew and telling us the story.  In this book Paris starts out sharing she felt left out because her twins sisters birthday was coming up.  She then decided to help plan the party so she could share the memories with her twins when they got older.  She helped her parents out with all the details of the party and was a big help on party day.  In the end she felt tired from working but thankful for her sisters.  The book has amazing illustrations and since it’s a series you can get other stories to share with your children.  I asked my daughter to rate the book and she gave it five fingers because she loved the colors and the story.

  12. Reading books like this really helped my boys when My daughter came along. I think they really do help kids realize the feelings they could feel with a new sibling arrives. And then it gives them ideas on how they can overcome those feelings and be happy about the new addition. I love that this book is geared towards little ones. We need more of these types of books.

    • You are so right Amber. My first two were irish twins (11 months apart) so they were really babies. But when we had our third my son was a toddler and he was still breast feeding it was rough. He didn’t like the new baby at all. My daughter loved her new brother but my son even now still have moments where he doesn’t really care to much for him.

  13. Books are always a delight to give! And then read with your kids. Some books, we reed 100 times, and they still continue to delight and interest us.
