Fairy Tale Remakes

Fairy Tale Remakes

We’ve been getting a chance to see fairy tale remakes all over the big screen and this year we are in for some great ones.  You know those tales you heard from Hans Christian Anderson about characters like Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel and stories that end with happy endings for the people in the stories.  Once I got older I was able to appreciate those same tales but with the Grimm Brothers twist.  Last year there was Mirror, Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman.  Mirror, Mirror was more funny and humorous and Snow White and the Huntsman was more action and suspense.  Here’s a few more great titles to look forward to.

I’ve been so excited about this and I am so ready to see this movie.  From all the previews I’ve seen it looks like it’s going to be amazing. I am surprised that it’s a Disney movie, but I can say Disney has been doing movies that’s more than just family films and you know when their name is attached it’s going to be a blockbuster for sure.  I plan to be there opening weekend. There’s also a animated film called Dorothy of Oz slated to be released this year.  Another movie I’m excited to see is Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.  This is the Hansel and Gretel you are used to with candy house.  Check out this preview.

Pretty awesome right.  That’s not even all have you seen any of the previews for the Jack and the Giant Slayer?  Another great story transformed again for the big screen and it also looks like a hit.  I can’t wait to see this rendition of the movie and see all the special effects.  Check out that trailer.
I’m sure there are going to be more like these in the future especially if these do as good as they are projecting.  Are you excited about any of these movies?

  4. I am totally looking forward to the Great and Powerful Oz. As far as the Hansel and Gretel movie, that looks like kinda freaky, lol. I’m not sure I’ll see that one, I’ll wait until I hear feedback on it. We’ll see. Thanks for heads up on movies to come ;)

  8. Interesting post. I did see the preview for Hansel and Gretel and thought it strange. Now that you point it out there sure have been a lot of fairy tale movies and shows lately. All stuff I’d be interested in watching. Thanks for the post.

  9. I hadn’t heard about the Jack one. I think it’s a great idea how Disney is remaking the fairy tales for adults audiences! I have Snow White, very cool.
