When I started blogging more seriously in September of 2012 I had lots of questions. Should I keep using my wordpress.com blog? Should I get my own domain name? What about hosting? Social media sites? There were so many questions and not a lot of places to get answers. Well at least I had my blogging buddy to help me with the basics and get started. I wish I had done more research because I would have done so many things differently had I though about it or had some blogging assistance. Don’t get me wrong, if it wasn’t for my blogging buddy I wouldn’t have gotten the start I did. I was so excited about getting a free trial to browse around the Top Mom Blogger site. I was offered a 30-day trial membership to get a peek into the site and see what they had to offer. Boy did I learn a lot. Within my first 24 hrs of logging into the site I was finding so much useful information that I just never had access to before.
The first thing I took note of was that I didn’t have a contact email readily available on my website. So if someone wanted to send me an email they wouldn’t have a way of doing it. I have since added a contact form to my page and added email information on my page. I would like to get better social buttons for my site though and so hopefully I will have a much better way in the near future. While on the site I also gain more knowledge on how to use StumbleUpon to help with traffic. There are so many areas of content and ways to help you with becoming a better blogger.
I really liked the section for blog challenges however the challenge is not all the way complete, I would like to see what else they would add to help you in 30 days of challenges. If you’re looking to monetize they have some suggestions to get your started in that area as well. I completely changed how I approached comments after reading the article on the site. The site if growing constantly and new content is being added all the time. There are also training session conference calls coming to the site soon. There’s so much to learn on the site and one lucky blogger can win a six month membership to the site. Weather you are a newbie, intermediate or expert blogger there is something for you on the site.
